SETTING THE STANDARD OF GUIDED HUNTING IN NEW ZEALAND..

NZPHGA members are expected to demonstrate a high level of hunting expertise and must be fully conversant in the safety aspects of hunting in the New Zealand environment. Each new applicant for membership is required to submit a resume of his or her abilities and experience. Every membership application is assessed by the NZPHGA Executive prior to acceptance.

Additionally, membership maybe denied or withheld should the Executive feel that the applicant was not of suitable standing or experience to represent the guiding industry.

NZPHGA members aim to provide hunting clients visiting New Zealand with the very best hunting experience possible and to ensure that each client leaves fully satisfied.

PROFESSIONAL TRAINING.

The NZPHGA has developed a comprehensive guide traning course, the Professional Hunter Academy (PHA), in conjunction with an Occupational Health and Safety Management System. All codes and standards are under regular review. Hunter clients booking with NZPHGA members can be assured that they are in the hands of competent people who have suitable skills and safety plans in place.

INDUSTRY PARTNERS.

The NZPHGA works closely with a number of associated organisations including the NZ Game Animal Council (NZGAC), the NZ Department of Conservation (DoC) and the NZ Association of Game Estates (NZAGE) in matters relating to game animals in New Zealand. In addition, the NZPHGA is an active member of the Tourism Industry Association of New Zealand (TIANZ).

We also hold close ties with international hunting organisations such as Safari Club International (SCI), Dallas Safari Club (DSC) and
Conseil International de la Chasse (CIC).
